Under the guidance of the Associate Director of Recreational Programs, you'll be the mastermind behind planning, developing, and bringing to life an exciting and diverse array of sports programs for our students.

What You'll Be Doing
- Program Planning & Development: You’ll help create and implement a fun, safe, and inclusive environment for over 700 student-athletes across more than 30 club sports. From scheduling practices to overseeing tournaments, you’ll be there every step of the way!
- Compliance & Risk Management: You’ll ensure our programs run smoothly and meet all academic and eligibility requirements, while keeping the safety and well-being of participants a top priority.
- Facility & Event Management: Help oversee our incredible Outdoor Recreational Sports Complex, Esports arena, and assist with Summer Rentals. Plus, you’ll get to plan and execute major special events and tournaments that make our campus community shine!
- Travel & Budget Coordination: Manage budgets (we’re talking $100,000 !), keep track of expenditures, and coordinate travel logistics for club teams—because every great team deserves smooth travel!
- Fundraising & Sponsorships: You'll support our fundraising initiatives, develop sponsorship opportunities, and help secure donations to make our programs even better.
- Student Leadership & Mentorship: As a mentor and adviser, you'll guide student-athletes and club officers, fostering leadership, teamwork, and personal growth along the way.
- Team Player: You’ll also lend a hand to the Associate Director of Recreational Programs as needed, helping with the overall operations of the department and getting involved with our Intramural Sports activities.

- Any one of the following, from the categories below:
- Master’s degree in a field relevant to the position (e.g., Kinesiology, Sports Management, Exercise Science, Recreation, or closely related field)
- Final semester or completed Graduate Assistantship with campus recreation or similar department performing duties for two (2) academic years consistent in area of specialization inherent to the position. *
- Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the position (e.g., Kinesiology, Sports Management, Exercise Science, Recreation, or closely related field) AND One (1) year (12 months) of work experience in the promotion, design, development, and/or administration of recreational programs.
- 4 years (48 months) of work experience in promotion, design, development, and/or administration of recreational programs, intercollegiate athletics, campus recreation, park district or similar organization that provides similar program.
- *Note: Students in the final semester of a Master’s Degree program, may be allowed to complete a credential examination and will receive full consideration, including being interviewed. An offer may be extended with understanding that proof of degree based on institution is provided to the employing institution Human Resources Office at least two weeks before the proposed start date.
- Note: Newly hired employees may be required to obtain and/or maintain certifications in American Red Cross, CPR/AED/First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogens and similar certifications.
- Experience in club sports administration, recreational sports programming, or student development
- Knowledge of league and tournament scheduling, risk management, and sports operations
- Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively engage with participants, staff, and campus partners
- Ability to supervise and manage personnel, including student employees
- Must obtain American Red Cross CPR, First Aid for the Professional Rescuer, and AED certification within 60 days of employment
- Master’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Leisure Studies, Physical Education, or a related field
- Two or more years of experience managing club sports, intramural programs, or recreational sports operations
- Experience in budget management, fundraising, and sponsorship development for club sports programs
- Familiarity with student leadership development and university recreation programming
- Experience working with risk management policies and emergency procedures in a collegiate recreation setting
- Strong event planning and organizational skills for coordinating tournaments, practices, and team travel
