We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Family Advocate to become a key member of our team. In this role, you will play an essential part in supporting families and ensuring the smooth implementation of our program's systems, including Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance (ERSEA). Your efforts will help empower families, promote financial self-sufficiency, and encourage active participation in our programs.
What You'll Do
- ERSEA Management : Oversee the implementation of our ERSEA systems, ensuring eligibility determination, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance monitoring are efficiently managed.
- Family Engagement : Actively engage families by building trusting relationships, assessing their strengths and needs, and creating personalized Family Partnership Agreements.
- Recruitment & Enrollment : Assist families with completing applications and ensure timely enrollment to fill vacancies and maintain a healthy waitlist.
- Liaison Role : Serve as a bridge between the school, home, and community to facilitate open communication and provide necessary support to families.
- Documentation & Compliance : Maintain accurate records in our program database (ChildPlus) and physical files, ensuring compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards.
- Family Support : Secure signatures and complete necessary documentation related to health, attendance, Family Needs Assessments, in-kind contributions, and more.
- Parent Engagement : Plan and coordinate parent meetings, parent cafes, and activities that foster family involvement and leadership.
- Volunteer & Leadership Encouragement : Promote volunteerism and encourage parent participation in the Policy Council.
- Event Coordination : Design and distribute flyers, organize refreshments, and communicate event details through preferred parent communication channels.
- Child & Family Services : Facilitate parenting curriculum and conduct child screenings, such as ASQs, dental clinics, and hearing / vision tests.
- Transportation Support : Provide transportation services, including distributing bus passes and coordinating rides for Policy Council meetings, doctor appointments, and center-based activities.
