Job Title: SIC Mechanic (COLA SB)

Job Summary: Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks Mechanic to work out of our Columbia, SC office. Job Scope : miscellaneous mechanic work, preventive maintenance, diagnose issues on equipment such as pickup trucks, fork lifts, welding machines. Knowledge of hydraulics systems, diesel and propane engines a must.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Make necessary repairs as required.
• Manage fleet fitness (safety, maintenance, and repairs) by performing daily/weekly inspections, tune-ups, and critical repairs on all fleet equipment.
• Perform internal, critical maintenance tasks including wiper blades, tire rotations, mirror repairs, fluid replacement, light replacement, tire inflation, and tread depth measurements.
• Coordinate external safety critical work including wind shields, brakes, steering system, suspension, tire replacement, and electrical systems.
• Respond to emergency work in the field for equipment repair or assistance.
• Provide vehicle/equipment technical support for technicians and management.
• Maintain and update vehicle/equipment maintenance histories.
• Conduct other tasks as assigned. Maintain and update record of maintenance/repairs.
• Load and unload trucks, as required
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Skilled in both written and verbal communication.
• Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
• Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.
  
  

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:

• Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds.
• Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions.
• Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops and other elevated positions, as well as, confined spaces.
• Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position.
• Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.
• Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, in workboats, and working in awkward body positions.
