About the Job
The Administrative Assistant will assist the Research and Development Center employees to ensure that research, development, and analytical support projects can be prioritized.
Responsibilities
- Receive and screen office visitors and calls
- Carry out administrative duties, such as filing and document control, taking minutes when applicable, performing bookkeeping duties, and inventorying office supplies and certain laboratory consumables.
- Establish and maintain files for SII intellectual property, such as laboratory procedures manuals, technical files, product formulations/manufacturing methods, Product Bulletins, Sales Specifications, SDS, and analytical and research reports.
- Maintain logs regarding sample throughput and the chemical inventory as well as weekly, monthly, and quarterly R&D activities; assist with corresponding reports as required.
- Retrieve and distribute technical publications to management as applicable.
- Understand HR policies as they apply to R&D personnel, maintain a record of updated policies, and communicate changes in policies, benefits, and deadlines to R&D employees.
- Understand the SII Quality system and procedures as they apply to R&D.
- Maintain documentation regarding building maintenance and equipment service contracts as well as expenditures for R&D locations and projects.
You Must Have
- Microsoft Office proficiency and ability to learn software specific to the chemical industry
- High school diploma; college degree preferred
- Three years of general clerical experience
