This role will work on a long-term project for the SLC Infrastructure team in the Storyvale community in Nolensville, TN. Top pay and great benefits package. This is a long-term project on a single worksite in Nolensville, TN. We will provide on-the-job training.

Position Summary

Candidate must operate construction equipment to perform civil and heavy highway-related projects. Candidate will function for short periods of time independently or with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions                                                                                                     

• Must be prompt, reliable and dependable with work schedule.
• Demonstrate ability to perform daily equipment lubrication as per operator’s manual.
• Complete required paperwork including Operators Daily Report.
• Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
• Frequently work long and unusual hours.
• Communicate with Shop mechanic, Foreman and peers concerning equipment.
• Meet performance and technical standards required to qualify for Level 1 position.
• Must be able to ask questions if you do not understand task or how to do a task safely.
• Follow all company safety policies.
• Ensure all duties are performed safely.
• Look out for fellow employees and never be afraid to inform supervisor of potential safety hazards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong working knowledge of machine control – i.e., Trimble, Topcon, etc.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to keep sensitive information highly confidential.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to take initiative, use good judgment, demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail, and carry multiple projects through to completion.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize work and ask for further clarification when necessary.
• Ability to work under pressure with tight time constraints, as well as the ability to deal with frequent interruptions, unresolved situations, frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 5 year experience in operation of heavy equipment

Preferred Education and Experience

• Experience working in land development or infrastructure
• Training in OSHA trenching and excavation regulations
