Position Summary
Westhaven Golf Club is seeking a part-time Player Assistant to join our dynamic team in Franklin, TN.
The Player Assistant is a part-time position for 16-28 hours per week (up to 4 shifts per week). General golf knowledge is a must with a basic understanding of proper golf course etiquette. Must be comfortable with interacting with people in a hospitality environment while enforcing pace of play guidelines and providing player support to enhance the golf experience on the course. Uniforms are provided. Weekend availability is a must (Saturday and/or Sunday) with a flexible work schedule. Discounted meal plans available while on duty. Golf course playing privileges and practice range access are included on a space available with Head Golf Professional approval. The position pays $12 per hour commensurate with experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Monitoring and maintaining pace of play based on guidelines of the club
- Communicating daily course rules
- Enforcing golf course etiquette as needed (dress code and conduct)
- Monitoring of golf course amenities while on duty (bathrooms, water stations, sand bins, etc.)
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds (minimal)
- Comfortable with potentially uncomfortable interactions to enforce guidelines and rules of the club
- Daily logging of pace of play
- Positive demeanor with outgoing personality
Skills/Knowledge/Experience
- A “Service Heart”
- Knowledge of golf course rules and etiquette
- Ability to read and speak English required to perform the duties of the job
Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands
Typical hospitality environment, frequently standing and walking. Lifting up to at least 50 lbs.
