What are the responsibilities and job description for the VA Coordinator position at Southern Maine Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery PA?
We are an established oral surgery practice that is 50 years young and we want you to
join our team. The VA Coordinator is the key contact person between SMOMS, the VA and VA Patients. They are responsible for all aspects of the VA patient's service and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- General Knowledge of scheduling as they are they only person scheduling patients
- Open communication with the VA Clinicals in any State
- Open communication with the doctors, clinical staff and front desk
- Request all Prior Authorizations prior to services
- Audit VA Patients seen, to make sure Prior Authorizations are correct, before the claim is submitted
- Tracking every type of service provided to VA patients, to include specific service codes and to track production
- Help billing with denials from the VA by pulling the EOB's from the Optum portal; to help problem solve and find out why the claim was denied.
- Track where Active VA patients are in the treatment planning
- Help Other Departments as needed
