WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR :
We are seeking a Financial Analyst. You will be responsible for coordinating and providing analytical support for SMC's corporate departments and real estate portfolio by participating in the forecast process and analysis of financial and operational information. The individual must be detailed, service-oriented, and proactive. The individual should be open-minded and comfortable asking questions and making suggestions. Excellent communication skills are necessary to successfully collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders and to effectively present data in a clear and comprehensive manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Participate in the annual corporate and residential budgeting process including the creation of corporate expense allocation models, reviews of corporate and property budgets, and presentations to senior leadership.
- Assist leadership in analyzing Southern Management Companies financial performance.
- Assist leadership in analyzing the financial performance of the residential and commercial portfolios.
- Provide support with the analysis of residential, commercial and hospitality budgets.
- Participate in asset management reviews including detailed analysis of financial performance, market analysis, and other property specific factors.
- Create and / or compile ad hoc reports as requested using Excel, Yardi and other data management programs.
- Manage and distribute reports and / or dashboards on performance indicators, findings, and assessments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or a related field
- Advanced MS Excel experience
- Yardi system (or similar property management software) experience preferred
- Experience with BI analytics a plus
- Good interpersonal skills to work with different management levels
- Strong business acumen
- Passion for commercial real estate
