About the Position:
We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer to perform the duties necessary to ensure that product, processes, and documentation comply with QMS, customer, and AS9100/ISO 9001 requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Reviewing contracts/purchase orders:
- for new products to ensure requirements related to product quality and the QMS are identified, understood, and achievable.
- for existing products, to ensure any change in requirements related to product quality and the QMS are identified, understood, and achievable.
- Translating customer-specific requirements into QMS documentation, and updating documentation in response to engineering changes. This includes ensuring that customer flow-down requirements are identified and effectively communicated to suppliers.
- Determining and developing the inspection criteria & methods needed to ensure product meets the customers’ specifications, including the inspection activities to be performed, the measuring devices to be used, the inspection points within the process, the inspection frequencies, and how results are to be collected and reported.
- Preparing, assembling, and submitting the documentation necessary for customer part approval, such as FAIR documentation in accordance with AS9102, and PPAP documentation such as Process Flow Diagrams, FMEAs, Control Plans, Gage R&R, Part Submission Warrants, ballooned prints & Dimensional Reports, etc.
- Participating in the selection and evaluation process for new suppliers, and the periodic evaluation of existing suppliers’ performance. These activities can include performing supplier quality audits and reviewing supplier performance metrics such as on-time delivery and product conformity.
- Manage the Corrective Action process, issuing CARs for internal and supplier problems, leading root cause analysis activities, establishing corrective action to eliminate the cause of the issue and prevent recurrences, and evaluating the effectiveness of actions taken.
- Initiating and maintaining positive interactions with customers, suppliers, and SMT Quality, Engineering, and Production personnel.
Other Duties:
- Perform product inspection activities, using measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, Micro-Hite®, optical comparators, CMMs, etc.
- Provide on-the-job training to others.
- Participate in department housekeeping activities
Ideal Candidate:
Required Proficiencies:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of relevant experience in an ISO 9001/AS9100 precision machine shop
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T
- Proficient in the use of measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, Micro-Hite®, optical comparators, CMMs, etc.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure quality and delivery requirements
- Ability to understand & follow written & verbal instructions
- Strong communication skills both verbal & written
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
Desired Proficiencies:
- Experience with Visual IPI preferred
- Experience with Keyence IM Series preferred
- Experience with MCOSMOS and MiCAT Planner preferred
- CMM programming experience is a plus
- Experience leading/performing internal audits to ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D is a plus
