What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structured Cabling Technician position at Southern Maryland Cable, Inc.?
Job Description: This position will be supporting our Commercial and Government clients. Ideal candidates will have installation, terminating and testing copper and fiber optic cable experience. Multiple positions available for a wide range of technical skill levels. These are permanent positions with growth potential.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities, not limited to:
· Installation of Copper and Fiber Optic cabling systems for both OSP and ISP projects
· Terminate, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling.
· WAP installation
· Camera installations
· Complete closet build-outs
· Troubleshoot system issues and provide resolution
· Complete daily documentation for work performed
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities, not limited to:
· Minimum of 2 years of installation experience
· Familiarity with trade test equipment
· Ability to read and work from prints and diagrams
· Analytical and critical thinking skills
· Exceptional attention to detail
· Strong work ethic and desire to provide exceptional customer service
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Must provide basic hand tools specific to the trade
· Work well independently as well as with a team
· Candidates are required to have satisfactory driving record
· Ability to pass pre-employment as well as random company drug testing
· Having a current Security clearance or the ability to obtain a Security clearance is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
