Career Counselor/Advisor – WIOA Program
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Career Counselor/Advisor to support job seekers in achieving their career goals through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program. In this role, you will guide participants through career exploration, skills development, and job placement while ensuring compliance with WIOA regulations. You will work with diverse individuals, including dislocated workers, low-income adults, and youth, to provide career planning, training assistance, and employment connections.
Key Responsibilities:
Career Coaching & Case Management
- Conduct assessments to identify career interests, skills, and barriers.
- Develop Individual Employment Plans (IEPs) tailored to participant goals.
- Provide career counseling, resume building, and interview coaching.
- Track participant progress and provide ongoing support.
Job Readiness & Placement
- Connect participants with job opportunities, apprenticeships, and training programs.
- Facilitate workshops on job search strategies, soft skills, and professional development.
- Partner with local employers to create job placement opportunities.
Education & Training Support
- Identify suitable WIOA-approved training programs and assist with enrollment.
- Guide participants in accessing tuition assistance, scholarships, and certifications.
- Monitor training progress and assist with job placement post-training.
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain detailed case notes and ensure WIOA documentation compliance.
- Track participant outcomes and prepare reports for program evaluation.
- Stay updated on WIOA policies and workforce development trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in counseling, human services, workforce development, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in career counseling, case management, or workforce development.
- Knowledge of WIOA regulations, labor market trends, and employment services.
- Strong interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships with job seekers, employers, and community partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software.

Pay: $52,967.00 - $57,850.00 per year
