Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring they receive the care and attention required for their well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings, including clinics, hospitals, and trauma centers, and will be committed to delivering high-quality personal care.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Monitor and document clients' health status and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Help clients with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in various settings such as Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, clinics, hospitals, and inpatient facilities.
- Support clients with specialized needs in areas such as geriatrics, emergency medicine, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), and hospital medicine.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with healthcare environments including trauma centers and inpatient care is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team within a clinical or hospital setting.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology related to emergency medicine and patient care is an advantage.
- Certification in CPR or first aid is beneficial but not mandatory.
