JOB PURPOSE |
This position supervises initiates, coordinates, and completes all maintenance requests for the agency and center’s interior, exterior and grounds according to policy and procedures. Supervises, initiates, coordinates, and performs regular visual observation and preventative maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and facility real property to ensure it is in good condition, free of damage, and operational. Will maintain records/logs of maintenance projects. Properly care for, maintain, and have an inventory of tools. |
SKILLS/QUALIFICATION |
Received High School Diploma or GED, some college experience preferred and/or certification from a vocational school a plus, and four years facility management experience. To include experience in the following: Lawn care maintenance, facility cleaning, facility repairs, snow removal, and Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations to move property, utilizing safety guidelines applicable to OSHA, Worker’s Comp etc. Proven ability to properly diagnose and complete required maintenance/repair work. Work within budgeted guidelines when purchasing supplies or service. Plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills a plus. Experience in Soliciting and supervising contractor work regarding all trades. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, or other software for data retrieval, spreadsheet creation, and report generation. Communication Skills: Communicate effectively, appropriately, and professionally in written and verbal formats with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and vendors. Must always maintain confidentiality. |
RESPONSIBILITIES |
Ensure all offices and centers are maintained to meet health fire and safety regulation and the needs of children and staff.
Oversee facilities improvements to include obtaining needed bids.
Supervise, monitor all facilities maintenance needs. Ensure implementation of Head Start Performance Standards, HSPP 1303.70. Ensure centers are complaint with Office of Childcare COMAR regulations. Other duties as assigned. |
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES |
CPR, and First Aid, Valid Maryland Driver's License. HVAC preferred. |
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS |
A current Certified Driving Record, State and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check, National Sex Offender Public Registry Check, Physical, Tuberculin PPD Tine Test at time of employment, and annually, or by physician requirement, thereafter, and Pre-Employment, Random, Post-Accident Drug and Alcohol testing. |
PHYSICAL DEMANDS |
Work requires extensive physical effort: Must be able to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders. Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach. |
