Specific times are to be negotiated with the Nursing Chair, since faculty may have different schedules r/t class, labs, and/or clinical.
JOB SUMMARY
The School of Nursing is seeking a nurse educator with a strong commitment to teaching excellence, scholarship, and innovation. The individual must be able to work collaboratively with a dynamic team, as well as work independently when necessary.
This individual will serve as a member of the School of Nursing faculty with responsibility for teaching within the traditional BSN program.
Specialties of part interest: Maternal/Infant and Pediatrics Other areas of interest are: Critical Care, and Medical-Surgical Nursing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
- Teach didactic and clinicals.
- Advise traditional undergraduate students.
- Work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
- Actively participate in continuous assessment.
- Serve on committees.
- Additional duties, consistent with educator’s talents and experience, to support the School of Nursing in the achievement of program outcomes.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

- An understanding of the importance for diversity, inclusion and equity.
- Master of Science in Nursing
- Active, unencumbered RN license in Oklahoma
- Two years or more of clinical experience
- Previous teaching experience preferred
- Capacity for learning required software for advising, student learning management systems, and testing
- Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment with interest in active and collaborative learning, as well as instructional use of technology
- Experience creating courses and evaluating outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Terminal degree preferred
- Experience with curriculum design, program implementation, and educational best practices
- Clinical specialty in areas of department needs
