Child Care Assistant Director
Part Time / Hourly
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday, 6:45 am to 8:00 am and 2:45 pm to 6:00 pm
JOB SUMMARY
This role provides guidance and oversight to childcare support workers and services to students. Must have a strong belief in the school's mission, always projecting a positive attitude, must be loyal to the mission, and must have a strong desire to serve others. Skills should include organization and forethought, have a global school-wide vision, ability to multitask, ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
- Foster a warm and welcoming demeanor with parents and students
- Direct routines and activity schedules
- Global awareness of routines and activities
- Guide student workers to align with expectations
- Manage student check-in/check-out systems per DHS requirements
- FACTS electronic system
- Paper-based form
- Document Accidents as necessary
- Injury Report
- Identify chronic behavior issues and communicate observed patterns.
- Effectively manage conflict resolution
- Communicate child conflicts with parents
- Communicate parent conflicts with school.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to operate office equipment
- Ability to provide quality customer service
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Southern Nazarene University is an expression of the Church of the Nazarene. - An understanding of the importance for diversity, inclusion and equity.
- High school graduate
- Minimum of two years of related work experience and/or relevant training
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple demands in fast paced work environment
- Typing and spelling competency
- Experience with various computer software applications
- Data entry experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some college coursework
- Experience in higher education
Supervision Received:
Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.
Supervision Exercised:
May be responsible for the coordination of work assignments for student employees.
