About The Department
At the direction of Clark County, the Call Out Team goes out in the community in places not meant for human habitation to engage with individuals experiencing homelessness in the hopes of working with them to address and overcome the barriers which keep them in homelessness and to assist them in the process of becoming housed.

The Call-Out Response Peer reporting to the Homeless Response Team Director is responsible for providing outreach and engagement services to people experiencing homelessness in Clark County. The Call-Out Response Team will respond to requests for service and provide in-the-field crisis intervention, assessments, referral, and connection to services for those who have been living in areas not meant for human habitation.

About The Department

Job Summary
The Call-Out Response Peer reporting to the Homeless Response Team Director is responsible for providing outreach and engagement services to people experiencing homelessness in Clark County. The Call-Out Response Team will respond to requests for service and provide in-the-field crisis intervention, assessments, referral, and connection to services for those who have been living in areas not meant for human habitation.
- Provide hands-on assistance to individuals living on the street or in a shelter
- Provide case management and crisis intervention services, medication monitoring, social support, assistance with everyday living needs, and access to medical care and employment assistance
- Submit an after-action encampment report to the County as necessary
- Advocate on behalf of, and assist clients in accessing community resources and support, to ensure equity and appropriate services are offered
- Conduct assessments to evaluate a client's current and potential strengths, weaknesses, and needs while determining their eligibility for placement in a stabilizing treatment or housing situation
- Transport clients to necessary services and treatments provided in the community
- Promote stability through direct intervention and mobilization of needed supports and services
- Conduct responder assessments to determine the number of homeless households in a given geographical area while routinely monitoring and frequenting areas where households continue to reside in places not meant for human habitation
- Monitor outcomes of referrals, to ensure that each client achieves and/or maintains stability
- Maintain accurate documentation daily of services provided to clients, into HMIS
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to report and review client progress with/ to all appropriate business contacts
- Actively participate in Continuum of Care and community planning to end homelessness
- All other job-related duties as assigned by management for needs of the business
- Knowledge of local social service agencies and programs, as they pertain to the unhoused population
- Communicate effectively with persons from a variety of social, cultural, and economic backgrounds, while demonstrating an understanding and sensitivity to those groups
- Effective written, verbal and listening skills
- Ability to independently initiate and maintain effective working relationships and respond to correspondence from all business contacts
- Ability to follow and maintain order, exercise appropriate judgment, follow complex instructions and procedures in crisis situations
- Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
- Ability to be flexible and quickly adjust to shifting priorities
- Knowledge of social service work, interviewing/referral techniques, and applicable laws, statutes and regulations
- Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds
- Occasional stooping or kneeling
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and/ or ramps
- Ability to flex and rotate wrists and/ or spine
- Ability to handle repetitive physical tasks and long hours on feet
- Ability to work in harsh weather conditions including but not limited to heat, wind, and rain
- Ability to work in remote areas (i.e. Encampments and areas not meant for human habitation)
- Proof of Highschool Graduation or GED
- 5 years experience operating a motor vehicle
- Lived experience with unhoused issues
- Active NV Driver's License and clean drivers' history report
- 2 years' experience working with unhoused population
- Previous experience working in a social services setting
