The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in our office. The Respiratory Therapist will work closely with medical staff to develop and implement treatment plans tailored to the needs of patients across different age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics.

This position is in Vernon, CT.
ESSENTIAL FUCTIONS:
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and airway management.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to create effective treatment plans for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on clinical findings.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding respiratory health and home care techniques.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities.
- Perform pulmonary function testing, mask fittings, 6-minute walks and collaborate with our outpatient care team.
SKILLS:
- Strong knowledge of human physiology related to respiratory function.
- Proficient in airway management techniques.
- Experience working in both inpatient hospital settings and outpatient clinics.
- Familiarity with advanced respiratory equipment and therapies used in clinical practice.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address complex patient needs effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree required, bachelor's degree preferred from an AMA approved Respiratory program.
- Ability to function as a self-directed team member.
- Valid State of Connecticut Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) granted by The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) prior to Orientation.
