The opportunity
Southern New Hampshire University’s traditional campus is seeking Adjunct Instructors to join our School of Arts, Sciences, and Education (SASE) to teach American Politics (POL-210). This is an on-campus teaching opportunity, reporting to the Associate Dean of SASE.
POL-210 provides a broad introduction to the structure and function of the American political system at the national level. Topics include the roles of the president, Congress, the courts, the bureaucracy, political parties, interest groups, and mass media in policy-making and electoral processes. The course emphasizes how the framers of the Constitution sought to address political challenges of their time and how their solutions continue to shape American national politics today.

Course Schedule:
- Days: Monday/Thursday
- Times: 12:30–1:45 PM and 2:00–3:15 PM
What You'll Do:
- Teach engaging, student-centered classes that align with course objectives and learning outcomes
- Foster a dynamic classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and discussion
- Provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments to support student growth
- Utilize innovative teaching methods to enhance student understanding of American politics
- Be available for student questions and support outside of class through office hours or email
What we're looking for:
- Master’s degree in Political Science, History, Sociology, or a related field
- College-level teaching experience preferred
- Strong communication and engagement skills to foster student learning in a dynamic classroom environment

Compensation
The standard compensation for courses is $2,800 - $3,400 per 16-week undergraduate or graduate course. Actual pay is determined at the time of course assignment based on discipline.
