At Southern New Hampshire Internal Medicine (SNHIMA) our clinical professionals work closely with our patients to promote a healthy lifestyle and prevent the onset of disease. As an organization we prioritize the whole individual in the scope of patient care, rather than simply treating the symptoms of their presenting illness or condition.
What's the Daily?
Medical Assistants support our providers and patients, both clinical and administratively, in accordance with CLIA, NCQA as well as established practice standards.
Including:
- Patient flow management
- Chart preparation (ensuring reports/discharge summaries are received)
- Rooming (vitals, data collection, and thorough documentation)
- Direct physician support during treatment, examination, and testing (A1C, ECG, Hearing, Vision, etc. – based on patient’s visit purpose and conditions).
- Administrative tasks such as patient triage via phone/chat, processing refill requests, obtaining STAT pre-certifications, and medication prior authorizations.
- Coordination of care between patients, caregivers, specialists, and community agencies to ensure results and instructions are successfully communicated
- Administers prescribed medication(s) and immunizations (oral, nasal, injectable, and topical)
- Additional duties as presented within the scope of the role and under provider supervision
