We are a long-term care facility in Ardmore, OK, is seeking a motivated and dedicated Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to join our team. We are committed to providing excellent care to our residents, and we understand the importance of proper nutrition in their well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Menu Planning: Develop well-balanced and nutritious menus that meet residents' dietary requirements, preferences, and prescribed therapeutic diets, taking into account individual restrictions and cultural preferences.
- Food Purchasing and Inventory Management: Collaborate with vendors, evaluate products, and procure food and supplies while staying within the facility's budget. Monitor inventory levels, control costs, and ensure proper storage and rotation of perishable items.
- Food Preparation and Supervision: Oversee the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring compliance with sanitation, safety, and hygiene regulations. Supervise kitchen staff, provide training, and promote teamwork to maintain efficient operations.
- Nutritional Assessments and Documentation: Conduct nutritional assessments, document dietary needs, preferences, and changes in residents' health conditions. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to address specific concerns and update resident files accordingly.
- Compliance with Regulations: Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations regarding food safety, sanitation, and nutrition in long-term care settings. Implement and monitor infection control measures and participate in inspections and audits.
- Resident Communication and Education: Interact with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to address dietary concerns, provide education on proper nutrition, and promote healthy eating habits. Offer individual counseling and organize group educational sessions as needed.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, monitor resident satisfaction surveys, implement changes based on feedback, and continuously improve the dietary program and services.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage the dietary department's budget, track expenses, and implement cost-control measures without compromising nutritional quality. Seek opportunities for cost savings while maintaining high food service standards.
Requirements:
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification preferred, or willingness to pursue certification.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, therapeutic diets, food safety, and culinary skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Prior experience in a dietary management role preferred.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with a diverse team and effectively communicate with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
