What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant (MA) position at Southern Oncology Hematology Associates?
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to become a part of our team! You will perform a variety of duties related to patient care management. Our medical assistants provide quality compassionate patient care in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
- Gather appropriate patient information to prepare patients for exams.
- Measure and record vital signs
- Assist physician with exams and procedures
- Assist with lab tasks
- Maintain clean exam rooms, organized and stocked with required supplies.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of professional experience working in a clinical setting.
- Proficiency in typing and computer skills with experience in Electronic Medical Records
- Bilingual preferred
- Strong organizational and analytical skills necessary to maintain efficient workflow
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to effectively and courteously deal with patients, families, clients and coworkers
- Ability to react calmly and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Enthusiasm and commitment to learn , grow and manage change
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Phlebotomy experience and certification
