Position Summary
The Production Lead provides essential support, trains and directs the work of associates and program participants by overseeing tasks related to retail and production duties in a mission-based, customer-first environment, focusing on providing excellent customer service and maintaining an environment that supports a positive experience for customers, program participants, and associates.
Essential Responsibilities
Performs a variety of production and retail duties, including but not limited to such tasks as sorting donated items, pricing, rotating items, working retail sales floor and cash register, dressing room upkeep, maintenance of department equipment, inventories, accepting donated items, housekeeping.
May work independently or without the benefit of additional workers and without direct supervision.
Ensures department achieves or exceeds projected production goals and standards.
Trains and may directly supervise the production of department workers. Provides input to store manager regarding employee performance.
Supervises and performs inventories, tallies, other forms of tracking as required for the retail environment.
May fill in as the Person In Charge as needed.
Assists GoodWorks staff with the implementation of work plans and guidelines as established for client programs, as assigned by the Store Manager.
Completes departmental paperwork (including inventories, store orders, end of day reports).
Fills in and floats between retail and production areas as needed.
Ensures the highest level of customer and donor service standards are met by Interacting effectively with customers by providing excellent customer service and resolving problems within the scope of the role to the customer’s satisfaction in a timely, effective, and respectful manner.
Ensures the highest level of professionalism and uses best practices in the leadership of store personnel.
Ensures compliance of company policies and procedures from all staff.
Safeguards company property, including donated goods. Reports any incident of theft, fraud, waste, or unauthorized possession of company property.
Able to prioritize tasks and responsibilities to maintain an acceptable level of productivity.

Qualifications

Must have sufficient knowledge of brand name clothing, collectibles, antiques, and other items to be able to determine worth and quality.
Speak and understand the English language sufficient to read materials, communicate with customers and coworkers.
Perform simple mathematical calculations.
Education and Experience
High school diploma and two years recent retail supervisory or management experience. Exceptions may be made for upward career moves from within the organization.
Basic proficiency in Word, Outlook Mail and Calendaring.
Previous retail production or comparable experience preferred.

While performing these duties, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear.
Frequently required to walk and/or stands for up to 8 hours per day. Must regularly lift, carry, and/or move up to 20 pounds and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to push/pull and carry up to 30 pounds. Kneels, stoops, and bends frequently.
Occasional need to push heavy, wheeled carts, pallet jacks, hand trucks and other material handling equipment with loads weighing up to 250 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Local and regional travel is required. Work is performed primarily indoors in a climate-controlled space. May occasionally perform work in outside weather conditions.
