Position Summary
The Retail Supervisor assists and supervises in-store operations by overseeing tasks related to retail and production duties in a mission-based, customer-first environment, focusing on providing excellent customer service and maintaining an environment that supports a positive experience for customers, program participants, and associates.
Essential Responsibilities
Supervises and operates register operations efficiently.
Supervises and assists associates and program participants.
Maintains store presentation standards, e.g. organization, standardized classification, stock rotations, proper inventory levels, signage, and housekeeping.
Maintains quality control standards, addresses and resolves problems, and ensures continuous improvement in processes, procedures, and schedules.
Supervises and performs inventories, tallies, other forms of tracking as required for the retail environment.
Assists GoodWorks staff with the implementation of work plans and guidelines as established for client programs, as assigned by the Store Manager.
Maintain proper cash controls following company policies and procedures.
Ensures the highest level of customer and donor service standards are met by Interacting effectively with customers by providing excellent customer service and resolving problems within the scope of the role to the customers satisfaction in a timely, effective, and respectful manner.
Ensures the highest level of professionalism and uses best practices in the leadership of store personnel.
Ensures compliance of company policies and procedures from all staff.
Performs other duties as assigned that would lead to the successful operation of department, team, and/or mission.
Safeguards company property, including donated goods. Reports any incident of theft, fraud, waste, or unauthorized possession of company property.
Works without direct supervision.
Able to prioritize tasks and responsibilities to maintain an acceptable level of productivity.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
High school diploma and two years recent retail supervisory or management experience. Exceptions may be made for upward career moves from within the organization.
Basic proficiency in Word, Outlook Mail and Calendaring.
Previous money and cash handling experience preferred.

While performing these duties, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. Frequently required to walk and/or stands for up to 8 hours per day.
Must regularly lift, carry, and/or move up to 20 pounds and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to push/pull and carry up to 30 pounds. Kneels, stoops, and bends frequently.
Occasional need to push heavy, wheeled carts, pallet jacks, hand trucks and other material handling equipment with loads weighing up to 250 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Work is performed primarily indoors in a climate-controlled space. May occasionally perform work in outside weather conditions.
