The Role: We are looking for a passionate and compassionate Activities Director to join our team and play a pivotal role in representing and promoting our senior living community. This is a unique opportunity for someone with a combination of creativity, initiative, and, most importantly, a heart for working with seniors and their families. As Activities Director, you will lead our company-wide vision of rewriting senior living activity programming by providing opportunities through intergenerational, educational and purpose-driven activities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, schedule and oversee activity programs and transportation services for residents.
  • Hire, train, oversee, and, if necessary, terminate department employees according to facility policies and procedures.
  • Assesses and provides feedback to department employees on their performance in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures, within the prescribed guidelines and time frames.
  • Creates work schedules and ensures compliance for activity and transportation staff based on resident and facility requirements and budgetary constraints. Updates and maintains all schedule changes.
  • Designs, executes, and assesses all facets and aspects of independent activity programs, which encompass, but are not limited to: in-house activities, creative projects, social gatherings, music and entertainment events, educational programs, day trips, overnight trips, and engagement in local community activities and events.
  • Compile and submit the monthly calendar.
  • Manages the transportation program, including scheduling vehicles, trips, appointments, and resident sign-ups.
  • Contributes to the development, implementation, adherence to, and monitoring of the department budget.
  • Provides orientation for new residents and continuous information services to existing residents.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure activities programs align with the vision and goals of the community.
  • Engages in the planning and execution of events.
  • Engages in activities programs, tours and events.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with families, residents, and the local community.
  • A creative, results-driven thinker with the ability to implement innovative activities programs.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and guide a team in a positive, supportive way.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and a high level of professionalism.
  • Must possess proficiency in computers and technology.
  • A compassionate heart and dedication to ensuring the best possible experience for our residents and their families.
