Job Description:
As a Plant Health Care Technician, you will play a key role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating plant health issues for our clients. This includes managing plant pests, diseases, and environmental stressors. You will work with a team of arborists to implement effective plant care programs. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of trees and plants to assess health and identify issues such as pests, diseases, and environmental stressors.
- Apply plant health care treatments, including fertilizers, pesticides, and organic solutions, based on diagnosis and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, treatments, and client communications.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and execute tailored plant health care programs for residential and commercial properties.
- Provide exceptional customer service and communicate treatment recommendations to clients.
- Maintain equipment and ensure safety and environmental regulations are met during application processes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest plant health care techniques, pest management strategies, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in plant health care, arboriculture, horticulture, or a related field.
- Knowledge of common plant diseases, pests, and their treatments.
- Strong understanding of plant biology and soil science.
- Ability to diagnose and treat plant health issues independently.
- Experience with pest and disease management, including integrated pest management (IPM).
- Certification as a pesticide applicator or ability to obtain one (based on state regulations).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ISA Certified Arborist or Tree Worker Certification.
- Degree or certification in plant science, horticulture, or arboriculture.
- Experience with tree care or landscaping services.
- Knowledge of sustainable and organic plant health care practices.
- Pesticide applicators license.
