What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapy Technician position at SOUTHERN ORTHOPAEDIC SPECIALISTS?
We are looking for a passionate, self-driven Technician to join our growing team. The Physical Therapy Technician position will have responsibility for assisting the Physical Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant with daily patient physical therapy treatment and office tasks. The PT Tech will provide assistance with patient care based on instructions by the PT or PTA; will assist the PT in patient education services performed by the Physical Therapist. Previous PT work experience is a benefit, but not required. This is the perfect position for someone who has ambitions to apply and go to either PT or PTA school. This is not a requirement, but having prior biology/anatomy/kinesiology education is an advantage.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist
PT with daily patient therapy treatment utilizing skills which have been
trained by the PT.
Organizes
and clean equipment and supplies needed for treatments.
Straightens
and maintains physical order in department.
Provide
exceptional customer service when interacting with patients and all other
customers within the facility or over the phone.
Monitors
supply inventory and reports reorder needs to Supervisor.
Works to ensure a safe and clean facility.
Assumes
any other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Director or
Administrator of Physical Therapist.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma required; college hours preferred and/or healthcare training. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with both patients, patient family members, insurance companies and physicians.
