What are the responsibilities and job description for the OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST position at Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons?
Clinical skills required:
- Experience in treating acute and post-operative patient populations, including tendon repairs, fractures, and amputations
- Familiarity with post-operative therapy protocols for clinical treatment
- Manual skills for joint mobilization
- Wound care
- ASTYM certification or similar preferred
This is a part-time position. The current schedule is 2 days per week (16 hours) Monday through Friday from 8am - 5pm. As the patient load increases, the schedule will progress to 3 days per week (24 hours) Monday through Friday from 8am - 5pm. You will be able to determine your patient flow for scheduling established and new patient appointments.
90-95% of patients are post-operative and closed fractures from Hand Surgeons or Orthopedic Surgeons. You’ll see limited repetitive strain injuries.
