Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Crew Member to join our Third Shift team at the London Travel Plaza. As a Custodian Crew Member, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our facility by conducting minor repairs, cleaning, and performing general maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Minor Repairs: Perform minor repairs on various equipment and structures within the truck stop premises, including fixtures, facilities, and other mechanical systems as needed.
- Cleaning: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation in all areas, including bathrooms, showers, and common areas.
- Waste Management: Regularly empty trash cans, maintain waste disposal areas, and ensure proper trash removal procedures are followed.
- Parking Lot Patrol: Conduct regular patrols throughout the parking lot to ensure cleanliness, safety, and organized parking.
- Pump Maintenance: Clean and maintain fuel pumps regularly to ensure they are in optimal working condition. This includes changing pump nozzles when necessary.
- Parking Lot Maintenance: Keep the parking lot in excellent condition by removing debris, sweeping, and addressing any potential hazards.
- Painting: Assist with painting tasks, such as touch-ups and repainting of designated areas, to maintain a visually appealing environment.
- Power-Washing: Utilize power-washing equipment to clean various surfaces, including sidewalks, fueling stations, and buildings.
- General Maintenance: Assist with various maintenance tasks as assigned, including but not limited to landscaping, sign repairs, and light construction work.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work performed, and any incidents encountered during the shift.
Requirements:
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Maintenance Experience: Prior experience in general maintenance, repair work, or a related field is preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on maintaining cleanliness, order, and safety throughout the truck stop premises.
- Time Management: Efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks to ensure all maintenance duties are completed promptly.
- Team Player: Capable of working effectively within a team environment and collaborating with other crew members and staff.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as the truck stop operates around the clock.
- Safety-Conscious: Awareness of potential hazards and the ability to follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication skills to report any issues or concerns to supervisors or fellow team members.
- Valid Motor Vehicle Operators License
