We are seeking a GME Residency Coordinator, sometimes referred to as a Graduate Medical Education (GME) Coordinator or Medical Residency Coordinator at Southern Regional Medical Center (Riverdale, GA) a member of Prime Healthcare. The GME Coordinator will manage and facilitate the day-to-day operations of our medical residency programs at Southern Regional Medical Center. Acting as a liaison between program stakeholders, they facilitate communication, oversee budgets, and coordinate events such as orientations and graduations. The GME Coordinator is essential in balancing the administrative, educational, and compliance needs of our hospital's GME program.
Employment Type: Full Time – No Weekends or Holidays
Shifts Available: Days (Monday – Friday)
** You must have GME and ACGME experience to move forward in this position. This is not a remote position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- coordinate the medical residency program’s activities, schedules, and events, including planning and organizing key events such as orientation, graduation, and resident retreats
- ensure the residency program adheres to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements
- manage applications and recruitment processes for new residents, including organizing interviews through platforms like ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service)
- maintain accurate records of residents' training, evaluations, and certifications while monitoring and tracking work hours and program milestones to ensure compliance
- serve as the primary point of contact for medical residents regarding schedules, rotations, and administrative needs, while assisting with onboarding processes such as credentialing, orientation, and licensure requirements
- coordinate educational sessions, such as grand rounds, journal clubs, and exams, while developing and managing rotation schedules to ensure proper coverage and adherence to program guidelines
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years of Graduate Medical Education (GME) experience
- ACGME experience required
- TAGME certification preferred
- Experience with New Innovations
- ERAS preferred
