Overview:
As a Warehouse Inventory Supervisor at Southern Sewings LLC, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse and inventory systems. You will be responsible for monitoring and managing stock levels to meet customer demands and avoiding overstock or shortages which includes overseeing inventory accuracy and optimizing warehouse layouts to ensure smooth operations.
This position involves tracking, managing, and reporting. Overseeing all aspects of inventory management within a warehouse, including receiving, storing, categorizing, tracking, and distributing goods, ensuring accuracy to maintain optimal inventory levels and timely fulfillment of orders while adhering to safety regulations.
Key Responsibility:
1. Inventory Management:
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments and stock items.
- Update inventory records in the inventory management system accurately and promptly.
- Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies or shortages to management.
2. Data Entry and Auditing:
- Perform regular cycle counts and full inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Maintain organized records of inventory transactions and assist in generating inventory reports.
3. Organization and Storage:
- Ensure that all products are stored in designated locations and are properly labeled.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Assist with the organization of stock and preparation for outgoing shipments.
4. Collaboration:
- Work closely with shipping and receiving teams to coordinate and track orders and shipments.
- Communicate effectively with management and supervisors regarding inventory levels and any operational issues.
5. Quality Control:
- Inspect items for quality and ensure that received products meet specifications before accepting them into inventory.
- Address any issues related to damaged or defective items promptly.
6. Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols within the warehouse environment.
- Follow company policies and procedures for inventory management and material handling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Previous experience in inventory management, warehousing, or a related field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Proficiency in using inventory management systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of standing, walking, and performing physical tasks for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
This position is typically located in a warehouse or distribution center, where exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and other environmental factors may occur.
