Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain to provide spiritual support and guidance to individuals in various settings, including healthcare facilities, hospices, and community organizations. This role requires a commitment to educating others, managing conflicts, and offering bereavement support during challenging times.
Duties
- Provide spiritual care and counseling to patients, families, and staff in a variety of contexts.
- Conduct religious services, rituals, and ceremonies as needed.
- Offer bereavement support to individuals coping with loss.
- Engage in crisis management by providing immediate emotional and spiritual support during emergencies.
- Educate patients and families about available resources for spiritual care.
- Write reports and documentation related to patient care and spiritual assessments.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure holistic care for patients.
- Utilize public speaking skills to lead discussions, workshops, or group sessions on spiritual well-being.
- Manage conflicts with sensitivity and professionalism while fostering an environment of respect.
Qualifications
- A degree in Theology, Divinity, or a related field is preferred OR Certification as a Chaplain from a recognized chaplaincy certifying body.
- Experience in counseling is essential; familiarity with hospice care is a plus.
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team collaboration.
- Excellent crisis management skills to handle sensitive situations effectively.
- Proficient in public speaking and able to communicate clearly with diverse audiences.
- Ability to educate others on spiritual matters while being empathetic and supportive.
- Previous experience providing bereavement support is highly desirable.
- Must be present and actively engaged in the community served.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
