What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketer position at Southern Sky Hospice?
The Account Manager is a key position within the company. Responsible for increasing Medicare and Managed Care admissions. The Account Manager will develop and implement both business-building and relationship-building strategies for identifying high opportunity accounts within an assigned geographical territory. This position will require team development and overall sales strategies.
The Account Manager is expected to generate appropriate patient referrals/admissions from accounts and continue to grow the number of referrals/admissions over time by establishing and maintaining professional relationships with all referral sources in the community. Patient’s needs are the highest priority. This position is the front line of Southern Sky Hospice's account care, and patient satisfaction. The priorities include Team Development, Growth Strategies for business growth and patient satisfaction are of equal importance for the organization.
Key referral sources include physician’s clinics, nursing homes, assisted/independent living facilities and hospital personnel, including but not limited to case managers, discharge planners and other appropriate referral sources. The Account Manager will actively establish and maintain market awareness, acceptance, and branding of the company as the “Optimal Choice” for the Hospice needs throughout Southern Sky Hospice's local service area. He/she will represent Southern Sky Hospice and its services in a competent professional and responsive manner and maintain standards of high-quality customer service in compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
The ideal Account Manager will need to possess the listed skills and the meet the following requirements:
1. Palliative and Hospice knowledge base required.
2. Familiar with health insurance coverage
3. Demonstrated history of positive sales results, preferably involving sophisticated and meaningful customer relationships that led to outstanding results.
4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and public relations skills.
5. Ability to market effectively with customers, referral sources, and the community.
6. Compliance with accepted professional standards and practices.
7. Satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers.
8. Satisfactory criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
9. Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.
10. Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligations.
11. Ability to be creative and "think outside the box" and have fun doing so.
12. Personal car for travel and valid driver’s license.
13. Carry personal auto liability insurance coverage.
Working Conditions
1. Be able to tolerate exposure to elements including, but not limited to, odors, blood, body fluids and excrements, adverse environmental conditions, and hazardous materials.
2. Must be able to work independently, make judgments based on assessments and data available and act accordingly.
3. Must be flexible, innovative and possess good interpersonal skills.
4. Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress and demonstrate emotional stability.
5. Must have a current valid driver’s license, auto liability insurance and reliable transportation.
6. Requires minimal physical effort most of the day including kneeling, squatting, reaching, twisting, climbing, walking, exposure to temperature and humidity changes and minimal assist in lifting and/or transferring of a 20-pound patient.
7. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use appropriate adaptive devices that will enable senses to function at a level required to meet the essential duties of the position.
8. Must provide evidence of annual TB test and other state-required tests or examinations.
Position Qualifications
The Account Manager must at least meet one of the following options:
· Clinical background (RN, MSW, LPN) preferred.
· Bachelor's degree and related healthcare experience and knowledge.
· Minimum of two to five years of recent medical field sales experience.
