What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiber Technician position at Southern Sky LLC?
Job Overview
Southern Sky L.L.C. is currently accepting applications to fill a couple of open positions on the Beacon Broadband fiber to the home project. Duties will include digging trenches 12-18" deep, burying conduit for fiber installation, restoration of property to its previous or better form, climbing 32' ladders to string fiber along power poles to customer's residence, documenting progress and uploading pictures of work performed. Applicants must have good people skills and be polite in nature. This opportunity requires continued contact with customers and their neighbors, as some work will be required on neighboring properties to complete installation of services. So respect and politeness, (even when it's difficult) is an absolute must. Must be willing to work in ALL weather conditions and be a team player. Must have current, and clean drivers license. Must have a current flaggers card, or be able to get it ASAP. Gold Beach is as rural as it gets, and the work is difficult. The power poles span across rough terrain. Currently, the workload spans from Brookings to Sixes. Soon it will span to Agness and Bandon. Full time with OT. Real "Drop" Experience a HUGE plus, but if you enjoy outside work and can handle the physical nature required for the position then you are highly encouraged to apply.
