About the Role:
The Machine Engineer at Southern Specialties Inc. will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of machinery used in our operations. The engineer will optimize machinery performance and implement innovative solutions to enhance productivity. Performs advanced mechanical breakdown and preventive maintenance (PM) that includes inspection, repair, and revision of complex/sophisticated plant machinery/mechanisms and production equipment. Enhances/improves machine utilization to ensure process repeatability, uptime and reduce change over and set-up times. Performs breakdown maintenance by troubleshooting, repairing and documenting. Partners with management, operations and vendors regarding new machinery/equipment selection, specifications, set-up and operator training. Additionally, the role requires a commitment to safety and compliance with industry standards, ensuring that all machinery operates within regulatory guidelines. Ultimately, the Machine Engineer will contribute to the overall success by ensuring that our equipment is operating at peak performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and engineering principles.
- Proficient with MS Office programs.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and meet safety, productivity, and quality goals.
- Good attention to details and product quality.
- Able to follow directions verbally and by phone.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in making recommendations and decisions within scope of responsibility.
Responsibilities:
