About the Role:
As a Selector at Southern Specialties Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and freshness of our products. Your primary responsibility will be to meticulously evaluate and select produce based on established quality standards, which directly impacts customer satisfaction and company reputation. You will ensure that only the best products are processed and shipped. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding in order to maintain our high standards. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to the overall success of our operations and the satisfaction of our customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in warehousing.
- Must have recent experience driving a forklift.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends when needed.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift, bend, twist, squat, reach and grasp.
- Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment from 35º F to 50º F.
Skills:
Attention to detail is essential in this role, as you will be responsible for identifying quality issues that could affect product integrity. Strong communication skills will be utilized when collaborating with team members and reporting findings to management. Knowledge of food safety standards will help you make informed decisions during the selection process. Physical stamina is important, as the role may require standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks. Additionally, problem-solving skills will be beneficial when addressing any quality concerns that arise during the selection process.
