MidSouth Pain Treatment Center, a PartnerCare affiliated company, is seeking a full-time Authorizations Coordinator, to join our growing and established practice in Jackson, TN.

The Authorizations Coordinator is a professional who determines a patients eligibility for insurance benefits prior to medical treatments and tests. This is a critical, administrative role that streamlines the submissions process for patients and secures necessary pre-authorizations.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Work with physicians and third-party payors to obtain, verify insurance coverage and obtain appropriate authorizations in a timely manner.
- Communicate with medical facilities to resolve any discrepancies.
- Communicate patients financial obligations if applicable.
- Verify insurance for all scheduled appointments/patients.
- Correctly identify insurance benefits/co pays and deductibles and documents accurately on verification forms.
- Obtaining previous MRIs or imaging.
- Update demographic information as necessary.
- Make appointments for specialist/facilities as needed.
- Informs appropriate staff/patient of authorizations/referral requirements.
- Staying current with insurance requirements, maintaining logs of denied claims and problem solving as applicable.
- Follow up on missing or inaccurate information including coordination with clinical staff and physicians.

Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent, Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred
- Two years experience in a medical facility
- ECW (EClincalWorks) Preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Intermediate computer/software skills in Word, Outlook, Excel
- Accurate data entry and typing skills of 45 WPM
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance
- Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Comply with corporate policies, goals and objectives, accept constructive criticism, establish goals and objectives, and exhibit initiative and commitment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a medical office team.
- Strong Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task when presented with multiple duties.
- Excellent math skills
