Birmingham Area - part-time / temporary position
Job Summary: The Credit Intern will be introduced to processes involved in managing loans post loan closings as well as other credit related functions involved with underwriting and banking.
Listing of Key Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision and mentoring, the intern will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and spreading customer provided financials, including but not limited to tax returns, financial statements, credit reports, etc.
- Assist in the Asset Based Lending process, including borrowing base calculations, monthly monitoring and maintenance
- Assist in the internal annual financial review process, including document review and collection, verification of paid property taxes, spreading financials, and covenant testing
- Assist in the management of all ticklers, related to financial documents, Asset Based Lending, and annual reviews
- Assist with construction projects by integrating projects into the respective software, uploading the construction budget, activating projects, and user creation
- Assist in the construction lending draw process
- Assist with financial board reporting
- Assist in the preparation, tracking, and submissions of maintenance forms related to Portfolio Administration
- Participate in projects related to Credit Operations and Core Systems and other data integrity projects
- Participate in the preparation of quarterly performance reports of criticized and classified assets
Qualifications
Education Required:
High school or equivalent; undergraduate student majoring in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; GPA pf 3.0 or higher with 2 years or less before graduation
Knowledge and Skills Required: Basic Microsoft Office skills; strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy; excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Key Business Relationships: Interacts internally with the Portfolio Administration Manager, Director of Consumer & Small Business Underwriting, Head of Credit Administration, Senior Credit Officer, Underwriters, Portfolio Administration Analysts, Loan Review Analysts, and other Credit Interns
