What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Project Coordinator position at Southern Talent Specialists?
Sr. Project Coordinator
Overview
To support the complex coordination of quarterly cloud service updates, hotfixes, and project considerations. This role will focus on bridging communication gaps between various teams (QA, business, vendors, PMO, solutions), managing the environment and updating schedules, tracking progress, and ensuring smooth release management processes. With a growing number of cloud services, environments, and projects, this position will be critical in minimizing risks, ensuring efficient workflows, and improving project outcomes. The role of project coordinator is crucial to facilitate communication between multiple departments: QA, business, vendors, and PMO. With numerous teams working on overlapping projects and updates, there is a need for a single point of contact who can align everyone on the same goals, timelines, and requirements.
Prevents miscommunication and bottlenecks that could delay or derail progress, ensuring that project updates are streamlined and aligned across teams.
Responsibilities:
Efficient Scheduling & Conflict Resolution
The position will track multiple teams' schedules, keeping everyone’s timelines in sync. This is essential when coordinating across three environments and various cloud services, especially when hotfixes, updates, and testing must occur without disrupting business operations.
Identifies and resolves conflicts early, preventing delays and ensuring projects remain on track.
Proactive Release & Update Management
This position will monitor all releases, hotfixes, and updates, with advanced release notes reviewed in detail to provide insight into potential issues before deployment.
The manager/coordinator will stay current on the latest vendor updates and changes, ensuring that the right environments are prepared and that all stakeholders are informed.
Risk Mitigation & Resource Management
By overseeing the coordination of updates and testing, the manager/coordinator minimizes the risk of issues arising from poorly executed updates, missed testing, or misaligned schedules.
This proactive approach will ultimately reduce downtime, improve system reliability, and increase confidence in the deployment process.
Support for QA & PMO
With a dedicated role managing communication and scheduling, the QA and PMO teams can focus on their core responsibilities—testing, quality assurance, and project oversight—without being bogged down in the minutiae of schedule management and cross-team communication.
