What are the responsibilities and job description for the ACCOUNTS PAYABLE position at SOUTHERN TEAM AUTOMALL?
Southern Team Automall in Roanoke, Virginia, is seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK. This is an office-based, clerical position that requires dependability. Will provide accounting and clerical support to the Accounting Department. Previous accounting experience and experience in an auto dealership preferred, but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Check all vouchers and obtain appropriate payment approval
- Prepare accounts payable checks
- Post all open items in accounts payable on a daily basis
- Print accounts payable reports and maintain all accounts payable files
- Reconcile statement and ledger making sure payments are consistent with dealership schedules
- Communicate cash requirements for payable dates to office manager
- Analyze vendor accounts
- Answer all vendor inquiries
- Assist with monthly closings
- Prepare analysis of accounts as required
- Assist with special projects and receptionist/switchboard duties as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent communication skills
- 1 - 2 years' related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Professional presentation
- Punctual nature and ability to handle schedule flexibility
- A clean driving record & valid driver’s license
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, on 10-key calculator
- Knowledge of CDK
- Knowledge of multi-company accounting
- General Ledger experience
- Must be at least 20 years of age
