This position is based out of our corporate office in Greenville, SC.

The Assistant Technical Designer is primarily responsible for supporting the Technical Design team in executing consistent production fit, grading, pattern approvals and maintaining accurate measurement specifications. Incumbent is also responsible for fit session administration and data entry functions for the assigned product category.

Crew Position :

Receive, measure, and prepare all fit samples for review, including shipping out packages as needed. Facilitate communication with the Hong Kong office and overseas production partners, ensuring timely follow-up and assistance as required.

Assists in the wear test trial process, including evaluating the results, tracking product under testing and maintaining the participant database.

Prepare for fittings by assembling inspiration samples, tech packs, patterns and fit sample history.

Maintain the Fit Log to record and document when fit samples arrive and completion status.

Participate in fit sessions, making suggestions based on knowledge of designer's vision and customer needs.

Explore innovative methods to streamline the fit process. Aid in conducting competitive research and analysis.

Maintain sample organization in Tech closet.

Provide support with presentations (PowerPoint) for discussions with cross-functional teams.

Assist the Director of Product Development and Technical Design Manager in evaluating sample acceptance / rejection, including providing fit correction feedback and updating Tech Packs accordingly.

Assist in preparing technical packages by inputting measurements, pictures, sketches, and any required additional information. Aid in updating construction CADs to ensure accurate sample details.

Who we would like to meet :

Bachelor's degree in technical design, design or pattern making required.

Generally, 0 years' experience as a technical assistant or fit technician

Knowledge of garment construction and spec grading required.

Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator preferred.

Pattern making, sewing and draping experience strongly preferred.

Microsoft Office, macOS, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)
