Southern University at Shreveport, Louisiana (SUSLA) is accepting applications for the Dental Assistant position. SUSLA is a comprehensive community college serving Shreveport, Bossier City, and surrounding areas in Northwest Louisiana. It is one of five campuses constituting the Historically Black Southern University System. The University serves approximately 3,000 undergraduate students and offers 32 undergraduate degrees and certificate programs in a variety of fields including Allied Health, Nursing, Aerospace Technology, Business Studies, Behavioral Science/Education and Science & Technology.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Dental Assistant will be responsible for general clinic administrative work and maintenance. The Dental Assistant’s primary responsibility is to monitor and keep track of the dental sterilization area. The Dental Assistant will maintain the material Safety Manual. The dental assistant will be responsible for maintaining logs and ensure all equipment certifications are current. Additionally, the dental assistant will keep track of clinical inventory, and order supplies under supervision of the clinical coordinator. The dental assistant will provide supportive duties necessary for efficient clinical operations.
