What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Southern Ute Indian Tribe Growth Fund?
Summary
This position is responsible for directing the Growth Fund’s accounting and financial reporting functions, to include establishing and maintaining the Growth Fund’s internal controls, accounting policies, practices, and procedures. The Controller also is responsible for coordination of accounting and finance related training and development, coordinating with IT regarding information systems, and implementing accounting and financial reporting policies. This position coordinates with outside auditors, tax and valuation consultants, monitors capital spending and budget compliance, and presents findings and recommendations to the Growth Fund Finance Director, other Growth Fund Directors and the Growth Fund Management Committee.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a closely related field and twelve years direct experience in accounting or finance is required.
- Must have five years full-time experience in a senior level accounting position for organization(s) with at least $250 million in consolidated assets.
- Must have current CPA certification.
- Must have at least five years experience supervising, mentoring, and training others.
