What are the responsibilities and job description for the Valve Technician position at Southern Valve Service?
Southern Valve Service is committed to providing top-class valve modification and reconditioning work. Many valve manufacturers and most of the largest Gulf Coast chemical processors and refineries trust in our integrity and competence to perform a wide variety of valve modifications and repairs on time, to specifications, and within budget.
DESCRIPTION:
This position will be responsible for the disassembly, inspection, repair and assembly of multiple types of valves including but not limited to gate valves, ball valves and butterfly valves.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School or equivalent GED
Industrial Valve experience a plus
SKILLS AND ABILITITES REQUIRED:
- Continually required to stand, walk, bend and crouch.
- Continually required to use hands and fingers and reach with arms.
- Must be able to lift parts weighing up to 30lbs.
- Follow all drawings and documented procedures in accordance with Quality Control and recognized standards that apply to the job.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screens. Drug Tests are conducted randomly each month after employment.
HOURS:
Full Time Position: Mon – Fri 8:00 – 4:30. Overtime and weekends as needed to meet customer deliveries. Schedule changes may also be required.
