The Director of Field Operations at Southern Vermont Solar manages all professional aspects of the field installation team's day-to-day operations and serves as the bridge between office and field operations. Responsibilities include:
- the creation of structural plan sets for all solar projects
- compilation of all structural and electrical plan sets
- construction permit acquisition
- job installation scheduling
- inventory management and procurement
- job safety compliance
- communications to and from the installation team, electricians, and office/management staff
As a critical member of our team, this role requires excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Required skills include:
- Must have a minimum of three years of experience with implementing techniques, procedures, and equipment used for the installation of solar products
- Knowledge of roof safety practices
- Familiarity of roofing practices for shingles and metal such as flashing and sealing
- Mathematical skills competency
- Basic computer competence including internet, email and phone apps
- Three or more years of team leadership experience
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on cross-functional team collaboration
- Understanding construction-related documents such as plan-sets
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot as the need arises
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and establish collaborative working relationships with peers and supervisors
- Model professionalism in all interactions among SVT staff, clients and the general public while representing the company
