We are proud of our school’s journey that started as an alternative school for “at risk” students inside an industrial business park with 77 students. OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:
Science teachers help high school learners understand scientific phenomena. They create engaging lessons, explain complex concepts simply, and enrich classroom time by using experiments. Science Teachers encourage students to be curious and to have respect for the natural world.
SKILLS AND QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students. Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Designing, developing, and delivering quality lesson plans and curricula that adhere to national and school guidelines.
- Drawing up suitable assessments and delivering helpful feedback to students, parents, and other teachers.
- Establishing classroom, lab, and field trip rules and regulations and ensuring that all students understand what is expected of them.
- Setting up demonstrations and assisting and supervising students while they conduct experiments.
- Providing extra resources, support, and interventions for students who are struggling.
- Ensuring all permission slips are signed in a timely manner and acting as a field trip chaperone when required.
- Grading papers, updating records, and handling various administrative tasks.
- Creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and voicing concerns.
- Assisting with the recruitment and training of all new teachers and providing support to student teachers.
- Participating in other school activities and regularly communicating with parents.
Teacher Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a Science field.
Teaching License Preferred
Empathy and great interpersonal skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Proficiency with basic computer software such as Word and Excel.
Experience working with children and adolescents. Previous experience as a science teacher will be advantageous.
Good classroom management skills.
Good teamwork abilities.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $40,500.00 - $65,000.00 per year
