What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Bartender position at Southern Way Catering?
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- This role is to facilitate bar needs and high-end bar service at on-premise and off-premise catered events.
- Help pack alcohol for scheduled event as well as unpack alcohol at end of event
- Cleaning and maintenance of all inventory
- Manage point of sale and cash handling for all cash bars, as needed
- Set-up & break-down stationary bars using appropriate linens and equipment
- Stock bars accurately based upon provided inventory pull sheet
- Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for patrons during various events
- Ability to prepare a wide variety of alcoholic beverages including: cocktails, standard mixed drinks, specialty drinks, etc.
- Be knowledgeable about bar menu in order to present it in a fashionable manner
- Assess customers’ needs/preferences and make recommendations
- Restock & replenish bar inventory and supplies as needed
- Reconcile cash & credit card sales upon shut-down of bar
- Comply with all ServSafe regulations
- Additional duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report check.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel and guests
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs., bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, reach, and twist
- Must be able to wake up early, arrive on time and stay late (as needed)
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
