Are you a strategic, people-first leader with a passion for helping students find their purpose? Southern Wesleyan University is seeking an Assistant Director or Director of Admissions to lead our recruitment efforts and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our student body.
As part of SWU’s Office of Admissions, you’ll lead a dynamic recruitment team, oversee strategic outreach and travel, and work directly with prospective students and key influencers like guidance counselors and church leaders. You’ll also serve as a member of our Core Leadership Team within Admissions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and coach admissions counselors and coordinators.
- Oversee recruitment team travel, communications, and on-campus visit experiences.
- Manage your own recruitment territory (travel included).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key influencers (pastors, counselors, etc.).
- Make weekly prospective student calls to guide them through the admissions process.
- Support and execute strategic communication plans for prospective students and influencers.
- Collaborate across departments to support recruitment and retention efforts.
- Ensure compliance with NCAA Division II rules and institutional policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in admissions, marketing, or higher ed.
- Strong leadership skills with a passion for team development and relationship building.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Tech-savvy with CRM experience (Slate preferred) and Microsoft Office skills.
- Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings/weekends.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
