What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher (Reading Specialist) (2025-2026 School Year) position at Southern Worcester Cty Educational Collaborative?
1.Participate and implement effective instructional strategies and research based curriculum, assisting the Program Director in curriculum development.2.Develop and integrate individual students IEP goals and objectives, learning style information and accommodations.3.Develop, implement and assess class/course curriculum relevant to state and CORE standards and best program practices, including providing input for curriculum and material needs.4.Complete quarterly progress reports and grades, end-of-year reports and all other necessary records on student progress and attendance.5.Attend IEP and Team meetings for students, providing instructional and program information and assist the Team in the development of IEPs and program instruction.6.Maintain contact as directed with LEA district personnel regarding individual student progress.7.Administer MCAS within educational setting and ensure the level of security and confidentiality as outlined by DESE.8.Create, administer and evaluate various assessments and evaluations to students.9.Assist students in analyzing and improving methods of study and learning.10.Prepare lesson plans that reflect accommodation for individual student differences and submit weekly basis to Program Director.11.Collaborate with site team in scheduling, integration of curriculum, and behavioral procedures.12.Supervise and participate in the evaluation of classroom support staff assigned to classroom.13.Keep informed of and follow all program, state, and federal safety, security and confidentiality protocols.14.Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of students.15.Manage student behavior and administer discipline in accordance with program, state and federal policies and laws.16.Maintain professional, effective and positive relationships with other colleagues and supervisors.17.Maintain parent or guardian contact regarding student program and progress.18.Present a positive role model for students that supports the mission and program of the school.19.Prepare, organize, and report on annual goals and progress made towards the goals and standards designated by the state teacher evaluation program.20.Provide written reflection on evaluations provided by supervisor.21.Participate in professional and staff development indicated by supervisor and maintain proper, current licensure and certifications necessary for employment.22.Maintain inventory of all classroom equipment and curriculum materials.23.Provide support to the Crisis Team.24.Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.25.Other tasks as related to this position as assigned by Program Director/Assistant Director.
