The Mobile Recreation Staff is responsible for planning, organizing, and facilitating recreational activities in various locations within the community. This position involves setting up and operating mobile recreation equipment, engaging participants of all ages, and ensuring a safe, fun, and inclusive environment.
PAY RATE: Starting at $14.00
WORK SCHEDULE: Not more than 25 hours weekly; mostly evenings. This is a seasonal non-career position.
- Travel to designated sites to deliver recreational programs and activities.
- Set up and break down equipment and materials for events and activities.
- Lead and supervise a variety of recreational activities, including sports, arts & crafts, games, and special events.
- Engage with participants to encourage active participation and positive interactions.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by following proper procedures and risk management practices.
- Maintain and inventory equipment and supplies, reporting any damage or shortages.
- Communicate effectively with team members, program participants, and community members.
- Adapt activities to accommodate various age groups, abilities, and interests.
- Promote a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
- Assist with marketing and outreach efforts to increase community participation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework in recreation, education, or a related field preferred).
- Experience working with children, youth, and/or adults in a recreation or educational setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to different locations.
- Ability to lift and transport recreation equipment (up to 20 lbs).
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in coaching, teaching, or facilitating group activities.
- Knowledge of basic sports, arts & crafts, and recreational programming.
