Race 4 Chase Assistant Coach

Work Schedule:

8:30am-11:30am

Requirements:

The Race 4 Chase Assistant Coach will be responsible for specific aspects of the program beginning June and ending August. The Assistant Coach will be responsible for assisting with all program activities that are relevant, developmentally appropriate and consist with the YMCA core values.

Candidate must be able to lift at least 40 pounds and continuously follow and promote the YMCA philosophy. Candidate must be able to actively run, ride a bike, swim well, jump, and lift a minimum of 1/3 their own body weight.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Under the direction of the Head Coach, the Race 4 Chase Assistant Coach is responsible and accountable for the programs and related activities, the development of new programs, and management of related staff

· Supervise children in the program

· Assist in the supervision of other staff members as directed by the Head Coach

· Adheres to program standards including safety ad cleanliness

· Follows the YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies

· Be able to exercise proper judgment when dealing with a group of children and staff members

· Must be able to be open and receptive to constructive criticism when it is for the benefit of the program or the staff members growth and development

· Attend all planning meetings

· Participate in all planned activity areas including swimming

· Maintain highest safety standards at all times

· Be a positive role model for all Race 4 Chase participants

· Assist on Field trips

· Participate in all midsummer evaluations

· Keep all areas used by Race 4 Chase programs clean and well maintained so it is suitable for staff, campers and families

· Perform all other duties as assigned

· I will adhere to all policies and procedures related to child abuse prevention

Expected Outcome:

· Create an effective Race 4 Chase program

· Represent the YMCA and the Race 4 Chase program in a positive manner at all times

· Report needs for the following year’s program

· End of program wrap up

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.35 per hour

Expected hours: 3 – 15 per week
